Introduction: Dengue is an arbovirus disease caused by the dengue virus. Its main vector is the hematophagous mosquito Aedes aegypti, adapted to the Brazilian climate. Due to its importance, it is convenient to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of dengue in the state of Paraná. Methodology: Descriptive, retrospective, and quantitative research. The location investigated was Paraná, with data from the Department of Health Informatics of the Unified Health System (Datasus) from 2020 to 2023. Results: Out of 17,411 cases, the highest and lowest number of notifications occurred in 2020 and 2021, respectively. The distribution of hospitalizations peaked in May. Among macroregions, the Northwest had the highest number of cases. Females and adults aged between 20 and 59 were most affected. Conclusion: It is a disease characterized by a dynamic relationship among numerous factors. Even considering underreporting, the trend is towards a progressive increase in the incidence of this condition.
