O Processo de Humanização do Parto: estado do conhecimento atual

Abstract

Humanized childbirth consists of a range of measures, from prenatal to postpartum care, which are aimed to support women as well as to prioritize their role in this crucial moment. Moreover, it aims to enhance satisfaction, autonomy and safety of both the mother and the child. Studies on humanized childbirth reflect pregnant women's lack of knowledge about their rights, therefore this review is necessary. Consequently, a conclusive search for articles has been carried out in the Scielo and BVSMS databases while using descriptors related to the perspectives of humanized birth and pregnant women's rights. Of all the studies, a total of 109 were identified, among which 14 completed articles were included in the analysis. Among these, three articles centered around rights related to humanized birth, four dealt with assistance care in humanized childbirth, while a further three focused on the role of nursing in the process of such births. Meanwhile, the remaining articles addressed topics such as non- pharmacological methods, medicalization and assistance by doulas. More importantly, it was found that a number of studies on this topic were further fragmented into other facets related humanized birth. It is hoped that the findings presented in this paper will prove to be useful in fostering this field of study and, subsequently, contribute to future discussions and interventions.
