PROMOTING A FESTIVE AND EDUCATIONAL DAY FOR CHILDREN IN A SHELTER HOME IN JOÃO PESSOA

Objective: To promote the physical and emotional well-being of sheltered children through donations of toys, snacks and hygiene items, in addition to playful and educational activities focused on han hygiene. Methods: This extension project was carried out at a children’s shelter in João Pessoa. Donations were collected and educational and recreational activities were organized. The intervention included an interactive theater performance that emphasized the importance of hand hygiene, followed by a practical demonstration. The children participated in playful activities and recreational games. Results: These activities provided moments of joy and learning, promoting well-being and health education. The participating students highlighted the impact of the action, describing it as a valuable experience for their social sensitivity. Conclusion: The intervention promoted the well-being and learning of the children, enriching the experience for all involved. The importance of continuous actions to ensure a positive and lasting impact is emphasized.
