L'ACTIVITÉ PHYSIQUE COMME TRAITEMENT ALTERNATIF DU CHIKUNGUNYA

Le virus Chikungunya (CHIKV), transmis par le moustique Aedes aegypti, a été initialement identifié à Bangkok en 1958 et est arrivé au Brésil en 2014, suscitant des préoccupations en raison de ses symptômes de longue durée, tels que la fièvre et la douleur polyarticulaire intense. Ces symptômes peuvent évoluer vers un stade chronique, causant une douleur et une raideur articulaire persistantes, affectant la qualité de vie. Le traitement actuel repose principalement sur les anti-inflammatoires non stéroïdiens (AINS). Cependant, des preuves récentes suggèrent que les approches non pharmacologiques, telles que les exercices de résistance et l'hydrothérapie, sont efficaces pour améliorer la fonctionnalité et soulager la douleur chez les patients chroniques. Compte tenu du manque d'attention accordée à la Chikungunya en tant que maladie tropicale négligée, il est essentiel de mettre l'accent sur des traitements intégrés et de développer des politiques publiques qui intègrent des thérapies non pharmacologiques.
